The Hidden Gem...Inside Out, Dave and Trey go to Africa

I want to start by saying that i've been looking for this full documentary since it came out in 2003... and finally i found it! In this you will see Dave Matthew's and Trey Anastasio film their journey to Senegal to play with the Orchestra Baobab. The language gap is quickly bridged so quickly be the music. Im a HUGE Phish fan, so seeing Trey in this is awesome. Enjoy!

Zimbabwe ZimBOBwe

I just started this blog so I thought id do another post today.  Robert Nesta Marley, aka, Bob Marley was one of the most important people in bringing reggae music to the main stream music scene. Heavily influenced by social and political issues, "The Skipper" wrote some of the most influential music ever. Here are three videos id like to share of two songs.

This is a rare studio session of Bob rehearsing Zimbabwe. The sound comes in at out at points, but I think its a cool video. Heres another version of the song, performed for Zimbabwe's independence celebration.

Lastly, Heres the song Top Rankin'. With todays highly charged political atmosphere I think that this song says a lot. Everyone needs to unite as people, and just live life.

They don't want to see us unite:
All they want us to do is keep on fussing and fighting.
They don't want to see us live together:
All they want us to do is keep on killing one another.

~Bob Marley (Top Rankin')

Wild Child

This is The Doors playing Wild Child. The Doors could arguably be the most important rock band in American History. Jim Morrison is one of my idols. His iconic voice, image, and persona will forever be remembered.

THE OPENING OF THE TRUNK

Moment of inner freedom
when the mind is opened and the
infinite universe revealed
& the soul is left to wander
dazed & confus'd searching
here & there for teachers & friends.
